  Our Rooms

Baby Room (Little Owls Room) Age range 0 – 15 months

Our baby room aims to create a warm and safe environment in a loving and caring atmosphere, where your baby is encouraged to grow and develop both physically and emotionally to their full potential. Whilst maintaining high standards of hygiene at all times. We have a relaxed routine, which enables us to cater for the individual needs of your baby.

Nappies are changed routinely as well as when necessary. Disposable gloves and plastic aprons are worn by staff when changing nappies as an added precaution against cross infection. Although we supply bottom creams and cleanses, we require you to supply your own nappies. All food is supplied by the nursery, either farm fresh food cooked on the premises (organic where possible) and blended, organic baby jars or dried packet food. Fresh boiled water is available at all times. We require you to supply your own baby’s pre-made formula bottles.

Each baby develops at their own pace and our qualified staff are trained to take account of this and encourage and promote normal development. Development files are kept on each baby and parents are able to view and discuss these at any time. . We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage ( EYFS) curriculum and Every Child Matters guidelines .

Every child deserves the best possible start in life to fulfil their potential. A child’s experience in the early years has a major impact on their future life chances. A secure, safe and happy childhood is important in its own right, also it provides the foundation for children to make the most of their abilities and talents as they grow up. When parents choose to use early years services they want to know that provision will keep their children safe and will help them to thrive. The Early Years Foundation (EYFS) is the framework that provides that assurance.

We also provide a daily nursery sheet, on which staff will write a little about your baby’s day at the nursery. All our staff are fully committed so that your baby is given every opportunity to develop their full potential. They are always on hand to discuss any worries or concerns you may have regarding your baby..

Toddlers Room ( Barn Owls Room) Age range 15months – 2 years

As above, however, this room is specifically for babies that have started to confidently walk unaided. We have a wide variety of toys to stimulate interest and encourage development. The various toys include ; numerous activity centres, shape sorters, peg jigsaws, rattles, story board books, teddies, soft toys, blocks and bricks. We also have a variety of toys to help develop large muscle control.
Tactile experiences are enhanced through painting, art and craft, dough, water and sand as well as as a variety of other activities.

Pre-School 1 (Snowy Owls Room) Age range 2 – 3 years

This is a large bright, friendly well equipped room for the children to explore. Close bonds are established between children and staff, with lots of affection shown. In this room children will experience group singing, dancing, art and craft and story time.
Through organised play, children learn to identify colours and shapes. Children become familiar with numbers through song and rhyme. They are also introduced to the sound of letters and how to enjoy books. Activities such as shape sorters, jigsaws and construction toys are ongoing together with larger equipment. Once you begin toilet training your child at home we will carry this on in the nursery. If you would like any information you can ask a member of staff.
  Pre-School Room 2 (Tawny Owls Room) Age range 3 – 5 years
Once your child has developed a sufficiently long enough concentration span to sit and listen to stories and work in a one-to-one and small group activity, they will join the pre-school group (3 years of age). Every child will be given individual help in number and letter work. Here they will also enjoy some of the activities such as art and craft, baking, singing, free play, dance/movement and story as experience in the toddler room.
